So what is going on in the world?
Well if you asked at the online version of the Sydney Morning Herald you would have to say not much at all.
I just checked the front page over there and one of the lede stories is day two of how some thief stole a Mac and the owner managed to remotely upload files of him singing or dancing or some such onto youtube. The thief felt humiliated and begged the victim to take down the video.
I am sorry did you just say so what?
Well so did I. What the hell is going on over at the SMH? I am getting more news about Libya from my Facebook page.
I wonder if this is some ploy to make people buy the newspaper because there is absolutely nothing to read online.
Or is it because the people who are running the SMH now believe that only the youth market reads online newspapers and therefore they wouldn't have the interest or concentration span to actually care about whats happening in Libya?
I am wondering whether I should start my own online newspaper. I am sure that there are some real stories out there that people would be interested in don't you?
So if you were starting a newspaper up, what would you call it? Free subscription to the Sydney Morning Herald for the best answer.
Happy Friday!
ADDENDUM Saturday Morning...Someone over at the SMH must be listening. This mornings online headlines include an article by the wonderful Paul McGeough analysing the situation in the Middle East...thankfully at least the Herald still has him!
