They absolutely need one of these too...567Now I don't know whether I seem to have a lot of problems with authority figures, but I have always felt that dealing with a copper on the beat has always been a fraught affair. If they have one idea and you have another well they do have a tendency to win on the brawn stakes...And I don't know... is it just me, but flashing a piece of paper around under the noses of the constabulary always seems to just irritate them more...I do have great memories of those halcyon days of the APEC summit in Sydney though... applying for nine pages of AFP accreditation felt like practicing for an exam but it was the piéce de résistance of the entry to the Passenger Terminal in Circular Quay to photograph John Howard from three hundred meters away that really brings back such happy memories... luckily the lanyard was made with strong elastic...we had to pass through something like fourteen barriers and x-rays with all our camera gear to gain entry.I must admit I did feel a fleeting sense of satisfaction when I had made it back out of barricade city...something like doing a good time in a marathon I suspect...So its nice to see that at least some of the paranoia and suspicion of the Bush, Howard, Blair era is waning...Or is it?
