'Beautiful Music' is a documentary that chronicles a hero's journey from the mean streets of Sydney to the warm heart of central Australia. It features the members of the Sydney Street Choir who come from the ranks of the mentally ill, homeless and drug addicted who sing themselves to salvation each time they perform. Set against the backdrop of the Northern Territory Intervention that has placed enormous restrictions on Aboriginal people, the hero of the piece Charlie Leon, one of the Stolen Generations, talks frankly and heartbreakingly simply of the effect the journey has on him and fellow choristers. Finally the Choir reach a place of deep reconciliation and understanding at the base of one of the worlds greatest natural wonders, Uluru. Our team consisting of John Horniblow, Tolmie McCrae, Fiona Thompson and myself are launching a Campaign via Indiegogo to raise money to complete this documentary in honour of the 5th year since the Australian Government Apologised to The Stolen Generations of Aborigines. The documentary was short listed for Screen Australia funding and the still images of the journey were shown in the prestigious Reportage and Head On Photographic Festivals. The multi media film is currently showing at the At The Vanishing Point gallery in Sydney Australia. As such we are looking for international partners who maybe willing to negotiate pre-sales and we also ask everyone to spread the word about this important project...Please look at the multi media trailer herehttps://vimeo.com/49944595The Indiegogo Campaign Launch For Beautiful Music will begin on Monday October 15th and we would ask if you have any feedback or suggestions we would love to hear from you.
